Individual Ceremonies

This is a more private ceremony requiring at least 2 witnesses.  Some of the best things in life are best enjoyed unscripted.  It is perfect for those who follow the beat of their own drum.... When you follow your heart, who knows where it may take you.

Unlike a traditional funeral, a memorial service is a ceremony that memorializes and honors the deceased after the body has been cremated or buried. A memorial service has the same meaning of any other type of funeral service; honor and pay tribute to the deceased.

Set some time apart to come to fellowship with your spiritual source.  Build your spiritual muscle by worship, singing, learning, sharing, prayer, or readings. Take the time to honor what is important and meaningful to you. 

Include the tradition of an Ancestral Honoring ritual this Samhain, celebrating family that has passed on. A great way to include all generations and hold alive the memories of our ancestors from across the veil and beyond. 

A child dedication means the act of presenting, consencrating or dedicating a child to your specific spiritual beliefs.  It is a public commitment to raise your child within those traditions and values.  It is something that can be acknowledged not just by Christians but it may be tailored to your individual guidelines.

You can also dedicate a building or a specific area.  This is announcing that a specific place is set apart for a distinct purpose.

Consecrations and Anointings can not only be performed on people but on objects as well. This is a declaration that you are setting yourself or an object apart and declaring yourself/it to be holy. You are elevating the purpose to a spiritual one through some act of a blessing.

It is a great honor to be asked to be a Godparent. Godparents have always been thought of as having a special role in the child’s life and are usually close friends or family members. 

Traditionally godparents in the Christian faith are part of the baptism service and commit to being responsible for ensuring the child’s religious education and spiritual development throughout their life.

Today, some parents will appoint godparents even if there is no church baptism. A guide parent is someone you invite to have an enduring relationship with your child. They could be considered to be the non-religious equivalent of a ‘godparent’, in that they both make promises to a child during a naming ceremony. Guide parents are not chosen to provide spiritual guidance, they are there to promise your child that they will always be in their life to offer love and support.

Guideparents/Godparents, whether religious or not, can act as role models and help guide children spiritually, emotionally and practically.
